DUO Question and Wave troubleshooting
PedConnex volume graphs are unitless; DUO Controller pedestrian phase faults may stem from cabinet wiring or grounding. LCD arrows map to channels and phases by cabinet type.

PedConnex Volume Settings and DUO Troubleshooting
Understand the PedConnex volume graph values, check cabinet wiring when a DUO Controller cannot find one pedestrian phase, and match LCD arrows to the correct channel and phase.
1. PedConnex and Pelco One volume settings
What units are used on the volume graphs in PedConnex?
The volume graphs are unitless and are based on the ambient sound around the button.
Why is the minimum value on the volume graph 39?
The minimum displayed value of 39 is an arbitrary number.
Reading the graph
The graph values are unitless. A displayed value of 39 should not be interpreted as a 39 dB sound level.
2. DUO Controller cannot find one pedestrian phase
Symptom
One pedestrian phase cannot be found by the DUO Controller, even though the field wires are connected correctly to the APBs.
Check the cabinet wiring and grounding
- Check the cabinet wiring for the pedestrian phase that cannot be found.
- Ensure that the pedestrian phase is wired and grounded correctly.
- After correcting any wiring or grounding issue, check whether the DUO Controller can find the phase.
Include the cabinet in the check
Correct field connections at the APBs do not rule out a cabinet wiring or grounding issue.
3. Match LCD arrows to channels and pedestrian phases
Use the following table to identify how the arrows on the DUO Controller LCD correspond to controller channels and pedestrian phases. Select the phase column that matches the cabinet type.
LCD arrows | Channel | NEMA phase | ATC/332 phase |
1-4 | 1 | Phase 2 | Phase 6 |
5-8 | 2 | Phase 4 | Phase 8 |
9-12 | 3 | Phase 6 | Phase 2 |
13-16 | 4 | Phase 8 | Phase 4 |
Use the correct cabinet column
The NEMA and ATC/332 phase assignments are different. Match the cabinet type before using a channel to identify its pedestrian phase.
