PedConnex Mobile App Guide
PedConnex simplifies field configuration of PedSafety devices via wireless Bluetooth, providing access to settings, audio management, and diagnostics.

Overview
The PedConnex mobile application allows technicians to configure and manage PedSafety devices using a wireless Bluetooth connection. The application provides access to device configuration settings, audio management, firmware information, and system diagnostics.
PedConnex simplifies field configuration by allowing technicians to connect directly to supported devices without accessing the traffic cabinet.
Supported devices include:
• Guardian Duo Accessible Push Button
• Audible Beacon Device (ABD)
• Other compatible PedSafety devices
Requirements
To use the PedConnex mobile application, the following are required:
• Compatible Android or iOS mobile device
• Bluetooth enabled on the mobile device
• PedConnex mobile application installed
• Target device powered and within Bluetooth range
Ensure the mobile device location and Bluetooth services are enabled before attempting to connect.
Connecting to a Device
Follow these steps to connect to a PedSafety device using the PedConnex mobile application.
- Open the PedConnex application.
- Allow the application to scan for nearby devices.
- Select the desired device from the available list.
- Enter the station passcode when prompted.
- Once connected, the device configuration menu will appear.
Connected devices will display their station identification number within the application.
Configuration Settings
After connecting to a device, technicians can view and modify device configuration settings.
Common configurable settings include:
• APS operation mode
• Extended press timing
• Locator tone period
• Walk timeout
• Clearance mode
• Vibration intensity
• Station identification information
Changes made within the configuration menu must be saved to the device before exiting the application.
Audio Management
PedConnex allows technicians to manage audio files stored on the device.
Audio categories typically include:
• Locator tone
• Acknowledgement tone
• Extended press message
• Walk message
• Clearance message
• Countdown message
Technicians can perform the following actions:
• Play existing audio files
• Delete audio files
• Upload replacement audio files
• Save audio files to the mobile device
Audio file transfer may take several minutes depending on file size.
Volume and Night Mode Settings
PedConnex allows separate volume levels for daytime and nighttime operation.
Adjustable parameters include:
• Daytime locator tone volume
• Daytime message volume
• Nighttime locator tone volume
• Nighttime message volume
• Night mode start time
• Night mode end time
Night mode can be used to reduce audio output levels during nighttime hours.
Device Information
The Device Information menu displays firmware and system information.
Available information includes:
• Firmware version
• Bootloader version
• Device identification number
• Hardware information
This information may be required when contacting technical support.
Saving Configuration Changes
When configuration settings are modified, they must be saved to the device.
To apply configuration changes:
- Save the updated configuration.
- Confirm the changes have been written to the device.
- Disconnect from the device properly using the application.
Unsaved configuration changes will not be applied to the device.
