Flashing Sign System - All Flash Scheduling

All Flash configures LED warning signs via TC Connect. Connect the blue-QR controller, log in to setup.trafficalm.com, create daily operation/standby schedules for weekdays, half-days, and holidays, verify system time, then send and enable.

Overview

All Flash is the TC Connect configuration used for flashing LED signs that are not part of another intelligent solution, such as Push 2 Cross, Chevron, or High Water.

All Flash systems are commonly used with warning signs—including stop signs and school-zone signs—that need to flash on a schedule, continuously, or when activated by a radar sensor.

This guide starts with connecting to the controller and walks through the complete All Flash setup before creating regular, half-day, and holiday schedules.

Before you begin

Make sure the controller is powered and that you can safely access the equipment labels. Identify the devices by the color of the QR-code label:

QR-code color Device What you will do
Blue Controller Connect to this device's setup Wi-Fi and configure the entire group.
Red Collaborator Record its six-character ID and add it through the controller's setup page.

Important: Perform the setup through the blue-QR controller. Do not try to configure a red-QR collaborator as a separate system.

1. Connect to the controller's Wi-Fi

  1. Confirm that you are working with the unit marked by the blue QR-code label. This is the controller.
  2. Apply power to the controller.
  3. On a phone, tablet, or computer, open the device's Wi-Fi settings.
  4. Find and select the network named TraffiCalm_Setup_XXXXXX. The final six characters identify the controller.
  5. Enter the Wi-Fi password exactly as shown: Tr@ffiCalm. The password is case-sensitive.
  6. Select Connect, Join, or OK, depending on your device.

No internet is expected. The controller creates a local Wi-Fi network for configuration; it does not provide internet access. If your phone or computer displays a warning, choose the option to remain connected.

Cannot find the setup network? TC Connect is available for approximately two hours after the controller is powered. If that time has expired, safely disconnect the controller's power connection terminal, wait at least 20 seconds, and reconnect it. Then check the Wi-Fi list again.

2. Open TC Connect

  1. Remain connected to TraffiCalm_Setup_XXXXXX.
  2. Open Chrome, Edge, Safari, or another web browser.
  3. Enter setup.trafficalm.com directly into the browser's address bar. Do not enter it into a search engine.
  4. If the manuals/downloads window appears, select Continue.

3. Select and log in to All Flash

  1. On the system-selection page, select All Flash.
  2. Select Save & Continue.
  3. At the login page, enter Tr@ffiCalm. The login password is case-sensitive.
  4. Select Login.

4. Configure the All Flash system

  1. System Location: Enter a recognizable name for the location or sign, and then select Save & Continue.
  2. Operating Mode: Select 24/7, and then select Save & Continue.
  3. Brightness Settings: Review the daytime and nighttime brightness settings. Use the approved project settings, and then select Save & Continue.
  4. Flasher Settings: Confirm the required flash rate, pattern, output, and any other settings shown for the system. These must match the connected equipment and project requirements. Select Save & Continue.

Why select 24/7? The system must be available to operate at any time. The schedule will determine when it enters Operation and when it returns to Standby.

5. Add collaborators, if used

If the system contains only the blue-QR controller, leave the collaborator fields blank and select Save & Finish. If red-QR collaborators are installed, add them as follows:

  1. Locate the first unit marked by a red QR-code label. This is a collaborator.
  2. Record the collaborator's six-character ID. The ID is printed on the product label, typically behind the solar panel.
  3. On the Collaboration Settings page, enter the ID in the Collaborator 1 field.
  4. If the collaborator should use the same settings as the controller, leave Advanced Settings unselected.
  5. If another collaborator is installed, select + Add Collaborator and enter that red-QR unit's ID. Repeat this for every collaborator in the group.
  6. Do not enter the blue-QR controller's ID as a collaborator.
  7. After all collaborators have been entered, select Save & Finish.

Advanced Settings: Use these only when a collaborator needs settings or activation behavior that differs from the controller. If Advanced Settings are not selected, the collaborator copies the controller's configuration.

6. Verify the controller's date and time

  1. Open the menu and select Status.
  2. Find System Time and compare it with the current local date and time.
  3. If it is incorrect, select Update from your device's time.
  4. Confirm that the displayed system time is now correct.

Important: Scheduled events follow the date and time stored in the controller. An incorrect clock will cause the signs to turn on or off at the wrong time.

7. Open the scheduling page

Open the menu and select Scheduling. This page controls when the system turns on and off:

Scheduled event System behavior
Operation The system is on and the signs flash using the configuration selected during setup.
Standby The system is off and the signs do not flash.

8. Create the default standby plan

Use Day Plan 1 as the system's default standby schedule.

  1. Select Day Plan 1.
  2. Click Planned Events.
  3. Set the event time to 12:00 AM (00:00).
  4. Select Standby, and then add the event.
  5. Drag Day Plan 1 onto Daily to apply it every day. If drag-and-drop does not work, select Daily and use Assign.

Result: The system remains in standby unless another assigned day plan places it into operation.

9. Create the regular weekday schedule

Use Day Plan 2 for the normal Monday-through-Friday flashing schedule.

Time Event Purpose
7:00 AM Enable operation Begin the morning flashing period
8:30 AM Standby End the morning flashing period
2:30 PM Enable operation Begin the afternoon flashing period
3:30 PM Standby End the afternoon flashing period

After adding all four events, assign Day Plan 2 to Monday through Friday. Drag the plan onto each weekday, or select the weekdays and use Assign.

10. Create special schedules

Half days - Day Plan 3

Use Day Plan 3 for scheduled half days.

Time Event Purpose
7:00 AM Enable operation Begin the morning flashing period
8:30 AM Standby End the morning flashing period
11:30 AM Enable operation Begin the half-day dismissal period
12:00 PM Standby End the half-day dismissal period

Assign Day Plan 3 only to the specific calendar dates on which the half-day schedule is needed.

Holidays - Day Plan 4

Use Day Plan 4 to keep the system in standby for the entire day.

  1. Add a Standby event at 12:00 AM (00:00).
  2. Assign Day Plan 4 to each holiday or other no-flash date.

11. Send, enable, and verify the schedule

  1. Review the events and date assignments for each day plan.
  2. Select Send or Send Schedule to upload the completed schedule to the controller and its collaborating group members.
  3. Select Enable Schedule to start scheduled operation.
  4. Verify that the system enters operation and returns to standby at the scheduled times.

Do not skip Enable Schedule. Sending the schedule stores it in the system; enabling the schedule starts its operation.
